If you are like most small business owners, you probably think that video marketing is very complicated. You might be wishing that you could use video to market you business, but don’t know how to do it. You may think that only Hollywood producers can know how to do it effectively.
That is NOT True!
In this post I want to show 3 super simple ways that you can use video to market your business. And you can get started doing it today!
#1. Frequently Asked Questions
I am going to start with my all time favorite way to use video to market your business online. The reason I like this one the best is because:
- Your prospects have questions
- You already have the answers
- These videos are super easy to make
- They are very effective
- They set you up as the expert
Here’s how to do it.
Grab a cup of coffee, or tea, or milk. Just not Coke. Get a pencil and a sheet of paper. And start writing the Top 10 questions that most people ask you about what you do.
Then get in front of the camera. Press record. And start answering those questions. At the end of the video be sure to tell your viewer what you want them to do next. You can then edit those videos by putting the question as the title. And a brief description about the video in the description box.
#2. Demonstrate Social Proof
This another favorite of mine. In these videos you are going to show your prospects that you can be trusted by putting your reviews and testimonials on video.
It’s not that hard to make slideshow style videos. You can simply put up some slides of your best reviews or testimonials. Be sure and add some cool background music, or even a voiceover.
Title the video according to the review. Add your business keyword and city. And if there is still room in the title be sure to add your business phone number.
Then in the description box, you can add your company website and any other pertinent information to help them reach you.
Another, even better, way to demonstrate social proof is to get your happy clients to leave a review on camera. This may be a little harder to setup. But the principle is to simply ask them to stand in front of your camera and say how they feel about your product or services.
#3. Offer Tips and Advice
You are the expert of you craft. You know so much more about your craft than 97% of the rest of us. So, demonstrate your expertise by getting in front of the camera and sharing your knowledge with us.
Does this sound daunting?
It doesn’t have to be. You can plan it out kind of like you did with the FAQ videos above. Just come up with 10 things that you know about your craft and fill us in.
Here’s some ideas to help spark your imagination:
- 5 ways to prepare your lawn for spring
- 7 things every homeowner should do for their house
- How to build a rock solid online reputation
- 3 ways to massage your own shoulders
- 5 things to look for when shopping for a new house
There. I just came up with those ideas pretty quickly as I thought about you all, and the different industries you might represent.
Video is an extremely powerful way to market your local business. I hope that you get started soon.
The hardest part of doing video marketing for your local business is just “Getting Started.” I’m serious. That is the hardest part. You must put your first foot forward before you will see the water begin to part. It’s not that hard to do, but you have to get started.
Time for response.
